Aquarius decan 1: the decan lords of both systems

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

Aquarius decan 1 · ราศีกุมภ์ เดแคนที่ 1

Chaldean decans

Aquarius decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Aquarius, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is Venus.

Venus as face lord makes the start of Aquarius friendly and a little cool. Affection comes through ideas, shared causes and friendship before romance. Taste is unusual and prefers what is not already popular: an odd song, a rarely visited place, a style no one else has. Closeness is welcome but needs room, and liking people as a group is easier than liking one person at a time.

A planet here tends to emphasise friendship and an unconventional taste. In practice, you make friends through a shared project, prefer a small odd venue to a popular one, and need an evening alone after a social week.

Triplicity decans

Aquarius decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Aquarius, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Aquarius itself, so the lord is the sign's own ruler, Saturn.

Aquarius in its plainest form. Principle, independence and a long-term view of the group are in the foreground. Rules are accepted if they make sense and questioned if they do not. Distance is a tool for seeing clearly. Of the three parts of Aquarius this is the one that is most serious about the idea of a fair system, and the one that works most patiently on a change it believes in.

A planet here tends to emphasise principle and independence. In practice, you join a group for its purpose, ask whether the rules still serve it, and work quietly for a change you expect to take years.

Note

The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
