Taurus decan 1: the decan lords of both systems

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

Taurus decan 1 · ราศีพฤษภ เดแคนที่ 1

Chaldean decans

Taurus decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Taurus, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is Mercury.

Mercury as face lord puts a thinking and talking layer on the steadiness of Taurus. Decisions are still slow, but they are made out loud: lists, comparisons, plenty of questions before anything is committed. Learning suits this stretch when it is practical, such as trying a method for a few weeks to see if it holds. Speech is plain and unhurried, and you trust what you have checked yourself more than what you have been told.

A planet here tends to emphasise gathering information carefully before it moves. In practice, you compare three options in writing, ask a friend who has done it before, and only then sign up for the course or pick the tool.

Triplicity decans

Taurus decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Taurus, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Taurus itself, so the lord is the sign's own ruler, Venus.

Taurus in its plainest form. Pace is steady, taste is clear, and what you like, you keep. Comfort, loyalty and repetition are valued because they work, not because they are exciting. Change is accepted once it has been shown to be better, and not before. Of the three parts of Taurus this is the one that is slowest to be talked out of a preference, and the most at ease with a quiet day.

A planet here tends to emphasise steady preference and sensory comfort. In practice, you keep the same favourite place, the same brand and the same route, and change them only after a long trial and a real reason.

Note

The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
