Aries decan 1: the decan lords of both systems
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Aries decan 1 · ราศีเมษ เดแคนที่ 1
Chaldean decans
Aries decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Aries, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is Mars.
Mars is both the face lord and the ruler of Aries, so this decan is the sign with nothing added: a fast, direct start that moves before the plan is complete. The first reaction is usually the honest one, and it shows on your face and in your pace. Waiting for permission, or for a slow process to finish, wears thin quickly. Arguments here are short, loud and soon over, and you tend to forget them faster than the other person does.
A planet here tends to emphasise starting things: acting first and explaining afterwards. In practice, this is the person who answers the email, books the ticket or signs up for the class on the same day the idea arrives.

Triplicity decans
Aries decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Aries, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Aries itself, so the lord is the sign's own ruler, Mars.
This is Aries with nothing added: the sign's own ruler and the sign's own character. The start is quick, the motive is simple, and the first move is made before the second is planned. The competitive streak is plain and open, and anger comes up fast and clears fast. Of the three parts of Aries this is the one that least needs an audience or a destination: it acts because acting is what it does.
A planet here tends to emphasise starting things and asserting itself. In practice, you say yes first, read the details later, and are already on to the next idea while the first one is still being discussed.

Note
The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
