Virgo decan 3: the decan lords of both systems

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

Virgo decan 3 · ราศีกันย์ เดแคนที่ 3

Chaldean decans

Virgo decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Virgo, the last ten degrees before Libra. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is Mercury.

Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and also the face lord, so the end of the sign is Virgo at its most analytical. Sorting, checking, summarising and fixing wording come naturally, and the mind prefers a clear method over a loose impression. This is the decan of the editor and the planner: spreadsheets, checklists, a clean draft, a route with the stops in order. The cost is a worry about whether anything has been missed, which can keep a finished job open.

A planet here tends to emphasise analysis and method. In practice, you build the checklist, proofread the file twice, and then reopen it at night because one figure might be wrong.

Triplicity decans

Virgo decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Virgo, the last ten degrees before Libra. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Taurus, and its lord is Venus, the traditional ruler of Taurus.

Virgo coloured by Taurus softens the analysis of the sign with taste and patience. Improvements are made at a steady pace and checked by use. Comfort and quality matter: good tools, a calm workspace, a meal made properly. The perfectionism is gentler and more sensual than in the other two parts of Virgo, and a job that feels pleasant while it is being done is more likely to be finished well.

A planet here tends to emphasise quality and steady improvement. In practice, you choose the better tool, set up a calm desk, and enjoy a job more when the surroundings are right.

Note

The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
