Planets in signs and houses
Mercury in the 9th House
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Mercury in the 9th house gives your mind a hunger for wide-ranging knowledge. You like learning languages, reading about other cultures, travelling and debating philosophy or belief. You see links between ideas well and may suit teaching, writing or communicating across borders. Be careful of thinking in shortcuts or concluding from partial information. Check the details before holding to an opinion, and your knowledge will become both broad and dependable.
Mercury in a birth chart
Mercury is the planet of mind and message. It describes how you gather information, think things through, speak and write, and how you learn. In myth it is the messenger who moves between worlds, and in a chart it shows how you connect ideas and people.
