Capricorn decan 3: the decan lords of both systems
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Capricorn decan 3 · ราศีมังกร เดแคนที่ 3
Chaldean decans
Capricorn decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Capricorn, the last ten degrees before Aquarius. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is the Sun.
The Sun as face lord gives the end of Capricorn a visible sense of authority. Responsibility is carried openly: people look to you to decide, and you have an image of competence to maintain. Titles, track record and being the one who finishes count for a lot. The cost is a tendency to put the role ahead of the person, so the version of you that others see is the capable one, while the tired one is kept out of sight.
A planet here tends to emphasise reputation and a public role. In practice, people hand you the decision, and you give a calm answer in public that you worked out alone, tired, the night before.

Triplicity decans
Capricorn decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Capricorn, the last ten degrees before Aquarius. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Virgo, and its lord is Mercury, the traditional ruler of Virgo.
Capricorn coloured by Virgo makes the ambition of the sign analytical and exact. Planning is detailed, standards are practical, and mastery of a skill is the route to standing. Work is split into small tasks and each is checked. Worry about whether it is good enough is high, and so is the ability to find the one step that makes the whole plan work. This is the part of Capricorn that studies how things are done before it takes charge of them.
A planet here tends to emphasise competence and method. In practice, you learn a skill thoroughly before you teach it, break a large goal into weekly steps, and review each step at the end of the week.

Note
The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
