Libra decan 1: the decan lords of both systems

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

Libra decan 1 · ราศีตุลย์ เดแคนที่ 1

Chaldean decans

Libra decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Libra, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is the Moon.

The Moon as face lord makes the start of Libra more feeling-based than the sign's usual cool balance. Fairness is felt as comfort: a tense room is hard to sit in, and an agreement matters because of how it feels afterwards. Moods follow the people nearby, so a decision is easier once you have checked that everyone is all right. Quiet sulking is more likely than open argument, and an apology tends to be offered before anyone has asked for one.

A planet here tends to emphasise emotional harmony with other people. In practice, you leave a tense dinner feeling drained, send a gentle message afterwards, and decide only when the people involved seem settled.

Triplicity decans

Libra decan 1 covers 0°00′–9°59′ of Libra, the first ten degrees, where the sign begins. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Libra itself, so the lord is the sign's own ruler, Venus.

Libra in its plainest form. Balance, fairness and the pull toward partnership are all in the foreground. Choices are weighed against how they affect other people, and taste in people and in things is refined. Putting off a decision to keep everyone content is the usual snag. Of the three parts of Libra this is the one that most needs a counterpart: it thinks best across a table from someone.

A planet here tends to emphasise partnership and fairness. In practice, you ask what the other person thinks before saying what you think, choose the restaurant that suits both, and delay a hard answer to keep the evening pleasant.

Note

The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
