Scorpio decan 3: the decan lords of both systems

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

Scorpio decan 3 · ราศีพิจิก เดแคนที่ 3

Chaldean decans

Scorpio decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Scorpio, the last ten degrees before Sagittarius. In the Chaldean system each ten-degree slice has a lord called the face, and here it is Venus.

Venus as face lord, in the sign opposite her home, makes the end of Scorpio passionate about attachment. Closeness is wanted deeply and tested often; affection comes with loyalty and an eye for whether it is returned. Taste is strong and exclusive, and you tend to have a few things or people you care about very much rather than many you like. All-or-nothing choices and a long memory for slights are the usual snag.

A planet here tends to emphasise intense, exclusive attachment. In practice, you have two or three people you would do anything for, and you notice at once when a message from one of them is shorter than usual.

Triplicity decans

Scorpio decan 3 covers 20°00′–29°59′ of Scorpio, the last ten degrees before Sagittarius. In the triplicity system its sub-sign is Cancer, and its lord is the Moon, the traditional ruler of Cancer.

Scorpio coloured by Cancer brings the intensity of the sign home. Loyalty to family and close friends is total, memories are long, and protection is automatic. Feelings run deep and stay private until they feel safe. Moods are tidal and sometimes take a while to be named, even to yourself. Where plain Scorpio tests the other person, this part first makes a place where they can be tested without being hurt.

A planet here tends to emphasise protective, private loyalty. In practice, you keep close contact with a handful of family and friends, remember what they said years ago, and defend them without being asked.

Note

The two systems count in different ways, so their results can differ; they do not contradict each other.
