Planets in signs and houses
Mars in Scorpio
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Mars in the sign it traditionally rules brings deep, remarkably focused power. You strategise quietly, wait for the right moment and do not give up easily. Your drive is intense and you recover well from crisis, yet you may nurse grudges or use your strength to control others. Put the force into changing yourself, research or demanding sport, and forgive when the time comes. Your energy will then restore rather than destroy.
Mars in a birth chart
Mars is the planet of energy and action. It describes how you assert yourself, go after what you want, compete, defend your boundaries and express anger. It is your drive, and it shows whether you tend to charge ahead, hold back or wait for the right moment.
Scorpio at a glance
- Element
- Water
- Modality
- Fixed
Scorpio is fixed water. Mars is its traditional ruler and Pluto its modern one, a pairing that suits a Sun with great force running below the surface. You tend to be private, perceptive and drawn to what lies beneath appearances: motives, secrets, hidden causes. Shallow talk bores you, and you would rather go deep with a few people and topics. Crises that scatter others often bring out your most focused, resourceful self.
