Planets in signs and houses
Mercury in Scorpio
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Your mind is deep and investigative. You see through words to the intention behind them, enjoy uncovering what is hidden and keep information quiet until the right time. When a subject grips you, you dig to its roots. The weak point is suspicion, assuming a hidden agenda everywhere. Test your assumptions against facts before concluding, and let trust do a little work. Your forceful words will carry even more weight.
Mercury in a birth chart
Mercury is the planet of mind and message. It describes how you gather information, think things through, speak and write, and how you learn. In myth it is the messenger who moves between worlds, and in a chart it shows how you connect ideas and people.
Scorpio at a glance
- Element
- Water
- Modality
- Fixed
Scorpio is fixed water. Mars is its traditional ruler and Pluto its modern one, a pairing that suits a Sun with great force running below the surface. You tend to be private, perceptive and drawn to what lies beneath appearances: motives, secrets, hidden causes. Shallow talk bores you, and you would rather go deep with a few people and topics. Crises that scatter others often bring out your most focused, resourceful self.
