Planets in signs and houses
Mercury in Libra
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
You think by weighing every side and looking for a fair arrangement. You negotiate well, choose polite words and understand people who disagree with you. You think best when someone is there to talk with. The challenge is slow decisions, because pros and cons look equal, and avoiding words the other person may dislike. Give yourself a deadline for choices, and practise stating your view plainly in a soft tone.
Mercury in a birth chart
Mercury is the planet of mind and message. It describes how you gather information, think things through, speak and write, and how you learn. In myth it is the messenger who moves between worlds, and in a chart it shows how you connect ideas and people.
Libra at a glance
- Element
- Air
- Modality
- Cardinal
Libra is cardinal air, ruled by Venus, and with the Sun here you understand yourself best in relation to others. You are drawn to fairness, grace and the search for the point where two sides can meet. You weigh, compare and look for what is elegant, both in ideas and in surroundings. Your instinct is to start things through connection: you ask who is involved and how everyone will be affected before you move.
