Key points

The Four Angles

Tropical zodiac, Western astrology

The angles are the four most sensitive points of a chart. They come from your exact birth time and place, which is why a chart without a birth time cannot show them. They are drawn as the cross that divides the wheel.

Ascendant (ลัคนา)

Imagine facing east at the moment you were born. The zodiac sign rising over the horizon is your Ascendant, often shortened to ASC or Rising sign. It describes your approach to the world: first impressions, instinctive style, how you meet new situations. It also marks the start of the first house. Because the sky turns once a day, the Ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours, so a few minutes can matter.

Descendant

Directly opposite is the Descendant, the sign setting in the west. It describes what you look for and are drawn to in close one-to-one relationships. It often shows qualities you admire in others and are still growing into yourself.

Midheaven (MC, กลางฟ้า)

The MC is the point where the zodiac crosses the meridian, the north–south line that passes over the birthplace. It is the point of the zodiac highest in the sky at your birth, though not necessarily straight overhead. It relates to public image, direction, vocation and what you want to be known for. It is not the same as a job title; think of it as the long-term aim you are working toward.

Imum Coeli (IC)

Opposite the MC is the IC, where the zodiac crosses the meridian below the horizon. It is the lowest point of the chart, though not necessarily straight beneath your feet. It relates to roots: family, home, early memories and your inner sense of belonging.

Why they matter

The angles are like four doors into the chart. Planets near them tend to be especially visible in your life, so a conjunction to an angle deserves attention. If you don't know your birth time, Natalora shows a chart without houses or angles instead of guessing.
