Key points
Chiron
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Chiron is a small icy body found in 1977, the first known centaur, half asteroid and half comet. It travels between Saturn and Uranus, read as a bridge between structure and change, and takes about 50 years to go once round the zodiac, so it returns to its birth position around age 50 (the Chiron return). In astrology, Chiron describes a tender spot: something you have doubted yourself about, often since you were young, that with time and patience can turn into understanding and skill you use to help other people.
What Chiron describes
Its name comes from a wise teacher in Greek myth, and astrologers often call it the 'wounded healer'. Some part of life may have felt harder for you than for others, such as speaking up, belonging or feeling good enough. That sore spot rarely disappears completely. Chiron is less about fixing it than accepting it, and that acceptance gives you patience and helps you understand people in the same place better than anyone. It is not a flaw.
Chiron adds depth once the Sun, the Moon, the Ascendant and the personal planets are clear.
Chiron in a sign and a house
Chiron moves at an uneven pace, so it stays in some signs for several years and in others for less than two. Everyone born within that stretch shares the sign, so the sign shows a style: how your sensitivity shows and how you tend to help. The house is more personal. It points to the area of life where you felt unsure, such as money, family, work or friends, and where you may later guide others. Read the two together, and treat the house as the main clue.
Aspects
A contact between Chiron and a personal planet or an angle makes the theme louder. Chiron with the Sun touches your sense of who you are, with the Moon your feelings and need to feel safe, with Mercury how you think and speak, and with Venus love and feeling valued. A contact with the Ascendant or the Midheaven (MC) puts the theme where people first see you, or in your public role. Contacts with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto last for years and are shared by many people your age.
Natalora explains Chiron's major aspects to the ten planets, the Ascendant and the MC. You find them on Chiron and on the planet it touches in your chart.
How to use it
Start with one question: where do I still doubt myself, and where have I already helped someone with the same doubt? Look at Chiron's house and any close contact, then pick one small step, such as sharing what you have learned with one person. Notice the theme over months rather than looking for a quick answer. If nothing fits yet, come back to it later.
In Natalora, Chiron is shown by default, and you can switch it off in the chart options.
