Planets in signs and houses
The Sun in Sagittarius
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
You are driven by a search for meaning and wider horizons, through travel, philosophy, study or belief. You are optimistic, frank and freedom-loving, and your positive energy lifts people around you. Watch for promising more than you can deliver and for speaking bluntly without meaning to. Tying your ideals to practical action gives your adventures a clear direction and keeps your generous enthusiasm from scattering.
The Sun in a birth chart
The Sun is the centre of the chart, just as it is the centre of the solar system. It represents your core identity: who you are becoming, what gives you vitality, and where you want to shine. Think of it as the conscious sense of "this is me".
Sagittarius at a glance
- Element
- Fire
- Modality
- Mutable
Sagittarius is mutable fire, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of growth and belief. With your Sun here you look toward the horizon: the next place, the bigger idea, the answer to why. You need room to roam, in geography, in thought or in belief, and you tend to feel cramped by small, fixed frames. Your outlook is hopeful, and your enthusiasm often arrives with a question about what it all means.
