Planets in signs and houses
Mars in Aries
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Mars is at home here. Your drive goes straight at its target, bold and ready to launch at once. You enjoy competition, starting new projects and being first to act. The push is strong but patience is short, and your temper flares and fades fast. Channel the energy into exercise or sport, and practise thinking about long-term consequences before charging ahead. Your courage can then carry you much further toward victory.
Mars in a birth chart
Mars is the planet of energy and action. It describes how you assert yourself, go after what you want, compete, defend your boundaries and express anger. It is your drive, and it shows whether you tend to charge ahead, hold back or wait for the right moment.
Aries at a glance
- Element
- Fire
- Modality
- Cardinal
Sun in Aries sits in the very first sign of the zodiac, in cardinal fire ruled by Mars. Where other signs prepare, you begin. There is a clean, direct quality to how you meet the world: you tend to find out what you think by acting on it, and you feel most alive when something is at stake and the starting line is in sight. Your energy arrives in bright bursts, and it runs on genuine motivation rather than obligation.
