Planets in signs and houses
Mars in Aquarius
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
You act for ideals and the wider group. You like working independently, breaking old conventions and backing causes you believe in. Your energy comes from ideas more than emotion, so you may seem cold or quietly obstinate when you disagree. The challenge is opposing just to be different. Work with a team that shares your aim and listen to how people around you feel, and your reforming energy will gain companions.
Mars in a birth chart
Mars is the planet of energy and action. It describes how you assert yourself, go after what you want, compete, defend your boundaries and express anger. It is your drive, and it shows whether you tend to charge ahead, hold back or wait for the right moment.
Aquarius at a glance
- Element

- Modality
- Fixed
Aquarius is fixed air. Its traditional ruler is Saturn and its modern ruler Uranus, a blend of principle and surprise. With the Sun here, you stand a little apart in order to see the whole, and you tend to think in systems, futures and shared causes. Your ideas can be original, and your loyalty to your own convictions is firm. You are friendly yet unwilling to be pinned down, a person who belongs to groups on your own terms.
