Planets in signs and houses
Mercury in Gemini
Tropical zodiac, Western astrology
Mercury is at home here. Your mind is nimble and curious, happily linking information from many sources at once. You learn fast, speak fluently, write well and adjust your style to the listener. The risk is that thoughts flow faster than you can check or finish them. Jot ideas down and choose one thing to complete. A simple system turns your quick wit into something tangible.
Mercury in a birth chart
Mercury is the planet of mind and message. It describes how you gather information, think things through, speak and write, and how you learn. In myth it is the messenger who moves between worlds, and in a chart it shows how you connect ideas and people.
Gemini at a glance
- Element
- Air
- Modality
- Mutable
Gemini is mutable air, ruled by Mercury, the planet of messages and exchange. With your Sun here, the world is first of all something to ask questions of. You collect information, connect unrelated ideas and move easily between circles, topics and moods. Your mind tends to run on two or three tracks at once, which makes you quick and entertaining and occasionally restless. Learning, to you, is a form of play.
