What is Mercury retrograde?
A retrograde planet looks as if it is moving backward through the zodiac. It is an optical effect. All planets keep moving forward, but when Earth overtakes or is overtaken by another planet, that planet seems, for a while, to slide back against the stars. Think of passing a slower car on a motorway: for a moment it appears to drift backward. Thai astrology calls this พักร.
Mercury retrograde in astrology
During a Mercury retrograde, communication, travel and technology tend to slow down and loop back. Messages get misread, plans shift, and old contacts reappear. It is not a disaster but a cue to review: reread before sending, back up your files, double-check bookings and revisit unfinished work. Give any important agreement an extra read-through before agreeing, and use the pause to rethink rather than to rush.
