What is Uranus retrograde?

A retrograde planet looks as if it is moving backward through the zodiac. It is an optical effect. All planets keep moving forward, but when Earth overtakes or is overtaken by another planet, that planet seems, for a while, to slide back against the stars. Think of passing a slower car on a motorway: for a moment it appears to drift backward. Thai astrology calls this พักร.

Retrograde Planets

Uranus retrograde in astrology

When Uranus is retrograde, the urge for change moves inside. Sudden outer shake-ups quiet down while you digest recent surprises and consider where you want more freedom. Restlessness may be hard to name. It is a good time to reflect on what in your life is outworn, to experiment privately with new ideas and to prepare for the next change on your own terms. Progress is gradual and inner, so give it room.
